Petra Stiasny a young Swiss promise in the international peloton

Her name is Petra Stiasny, she was born in the city of Wädenswil, Zurich, Switzerland. At 19 years old, her main objective is to become a professional cyclist. The year 2020 despite the pandemic Petra Stiasny always remained active in the sports part. One year after starting in this difficult sport of cycling, the Swiss Petra Stiasny is already attracting attention in the multicolored women’s peloton.

Petra Stiasny tells in her resume the following: “Since I was a child I was quite active, I swam and did athletics”, where she regularly participated in races. “I started in the discipline of Triathlon and since the spring of 2020 I am focusing completely on the bicycle”.

Then Petra Stiasny continues “After the qurantine, when there were races again in summer, I was able to collect my first experiences in cycling competitions. In addition to some smaller local races, I also had the opportunity to compete in some more important races such as the high mountain events: Martigny-Mauvoisin, Giubiasco-Carena or Chur-Arosa ”.

She also adds “I competed mainly in mountain races, in all those that I could win”, relates with pride Petra Stiasny. Then she continues “My strength is clearly climbing. I finished my season (2020), participating in the Elite category of the Swiss Road Championship ”, Petra Stiasny adds,“ In the Swiss Championship I was able to race against a very strong peloton, where I could finish in the position eleven of the prestigious test “.

The next weeks of March and first of April will be very busy for Petra Stiasny, her participation begins on March 21 at the Alfredo Binda Trophy in Italy, and then she will move to Belgium to compete in the great Belgian classics, on March 25 she will run the test “AG Driedaagse Brugge-De Panne”, then on March 31 she will participate in the classic “A travers la Flandre”, then on April 7 she will run another of the great cycling tests known as “Scheldeprijs vrouwen”, Petra Stiasny will compete all the those tests in the Elite category.

Among  her main objectives Petra Stiasny tells us: “My objective is to develop myself in cycling and to do it professionally”. The young Swiss Petra Stiasny ends. Since this year, Petra Stiasny has become part of the Cogeas Mettler Look team, where we give her the warmest welcome.

 

 

Tamara Dronova on top of the podium in Turkey

The Russian runner of our team  Cogeas Mettler Look, Tamara Dronova, was placed in the third position of the GRAND PRIX MEDITERRANEAN, held this Saturday in Turkey, and which had a distance of 88.8 kilometers. The winner of the test was Belarusian Hanna Tserakh from MINSK CYCLING CLUB with a time of 02:07:56.

The Cogeas Mettler look team was composed by runners Diana Klimova, Iuliia Galimullina, Gulnaz Khatuntseva, Aigul Gareeva and Marina Uvarova. The race ended with a very tight final sprint. Congratulations Tamara for your effort!

Klimova and Novolodskaya win silver medal in European Track Championships

The Russian cyclists from Cogeas Mettler Look, Diana Klimova and María Novolodskaya, won the silver medal, accumulating 51 points in the Madison event of the XI European Track Championships, held from November 11 to 15 in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv. The test was a true sprinter battle for points between the gold medal-winning pair, the duo made up of Italians Elisa Bálsamo and Vittoria Guazzini achieved 52 points, beating the Russians from Cogeas Mettler Look by just one point difference. Laura Ken and Elinor Barl were third with 38 points.

 

Likewise, the Russian rider María Novolodskaya, from our team Cogeas Mettler Look, won the bronze medal, totaling 114 points in the Omnium test of the XI European Track Championship. The winner of the event was the Italian Elisa Bálsamo with 135 points, and in second place the British Laura Kenny who achieved 126 points.

The tests of the Track modality of the European championship were held at the Kolodrum velodrome, in the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. Congratulations to our riders Diana Klimova and María Novolodskaya for their triumphs!

MARIA NOVOLODSKAYA EUROPEAN CHAMPION

The Russian cyclist María Novolodskaya  from our team Cogeas Mettler Look won the omnium test yesterday Tuesday, October 13, at the Attilio Pavesi velodrome in Fiorenzuola d’Arda, on the last day of the European Junior and U23 Track Championships. The surprise of the day was the loss of all the Italians who were going to compete due to a case of Covid in their delegation, deciding not to compete in any race.

After defeating the Ukrainian Yulia Biriukova with a distant attack, the Russian Maria Novolodoskaya clearly prevailed – winning a lap – in the tempo race and in the elimination, presenting herself as the most outstanding of the final score. Behind Novolodoskaya, they were located with 167, Wiktoria Pikulik (Poland) with 128, and Olivija Baleisyte (Lithuania) with 109. By the way, Novolodoskaya not only controlled, but also attacked to gain a lap and confirm her dominance in this omnium.

Congratulations to Maria Novolodskaya for her new victory that fills our team with pride !

Next: Liège-Bastogne-Liège

After an outstanding performance in the Giro Rosa and the Fléche Wallonne, the Cogeas Mettler Look squad is preparing to give their best in the next Women’s edition of the classic Liège Bastogne-Liège cycling, which will be run this  Sunday 4th October, the one-day road test this year will feature the participation of 24 Woman World Tour teams and a route of 135 kilometers.

 

 

 

The Cogeas Mettler Look cyclists María Novolodskaya, Julia Galimullina, Aigul Gareeva and Diana Klimova (all from Russia), the British Anabel Fisher and the Swiss Nohemí Rüegg, will participate in the 106th edition of the classic Liège-Bastogne-Liège. This race had to take place on April 26 2020 in Belgium, however, due to the 2019-2020 coronavirus pandemic, it has been canceled and rescheduled for Sunday, October 4, 2020. The girls will be directed by Sergey Klimov, and assisted by Vladimir Ekimov masseur and Artak Mkrtchyan as the mechanic.
