The Russian cyclist of the Cogeas Mettler Pro Cycling Team Maria Novolodskaya and her team mate Diana Klimova, won the gold medal in the difficult test of the Madison, corresponding to the European Championship Junior & Sub 23 Track, held in the velodrome of the World Cycling Center of the UCI, located in the city of Aigle, Switzerland.
The second place with a silver medal went to the British Megan Barker and Jessica Roberts, positioning the Italian duo composed by Elisa Balsamo and Letizia Paternoster to third place.
The Madison test is a variation of the points test, which is characterized by the way in which the “relays” take place, where the participating couples take each other’s hands with the partner, taking advantage to increase the acceleration with the impulse. That’s why the Madison test is a demanding and high technical difficulty race.
The young cyclist of the Cogeas Mettler Pro Cycling Team Maria Novolodskaya, just 19 years old is one of the great promises of Russian cycling, is a runner of enormous potential, which has given great results both track cycling and on the road. Congratulations Maria Novolodskaya for this new victory that fills our team with pride.
